These will get them for sure. I don't think the tails are to short except for the silver one on the bottom. After all the tail is the smallest thing on a minnow. These are some good crappie catching colors.

these are just a few jigs that i've been tying, sorry for the poor picture, not a very good camera. my main pattern is to tie in a tail (usually shorter than that of things ive seen online), then i tie in whatever body material, if its yarn or chenille ill usually rib it with another color, then i like to have tie in a webby hackle for the front that gives it more action. the three at the bottom are different from that basic pattern. one it a kiptail and rabbit strip, the other is a jig version of a crappie fly that i have been working on (i think i need a thinner body on it), and then the silver one is more of a flash jig that i've been figuring out. tell me what you think of them. again, it isn't the best picture.

Those will work
I like the balanced staging and quiet colors. What material is used for the gold "wing" in the bottom tie? My jig mentor has been discussing bare minimal flash ties, & we'd be interested how your silver flasher works.
the yellow wing on the bottom one is acctually just unravled acrylic yarn, if i dont have a certain material on hand it usually gets substituted with yarn. on the silver fly the tail is braided mylar tubing thats been tied on and then unravled. the body is grey antron ribbed with a strand of tinsel and then i tied in a sparse wing of krystal flash (krystal flash didnt show up well with my camera).

Those should work just fine
