    Default Check out my tails

    :D:D:D:D:D
Finally got around to dying some whitetail flags after they dried out properly. I have been using "northern" tails until I got a few from this years season that were local "southern" deer. The southern tails are shorter and softer and I tend to like them better already. This is what happens when southern tails meet Kool-Aid.

For anyone wanting to give it a try, here is the "recipe" I used.

    Dying Buck Tail

For the deep red I used two black cherry packs and one cherry pack.

I have never done bucktail but those look awesome. Especially for cool-aid! Might have to make a chartreuse one since I have orange, red and white.

How do you paint/color/decorate the head on that bottom one?
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

That must be some good kool-aid,sweetened or unsweetened? I use perfection dyes and the colors don't come out like this. There is some nice "KILLER SPINNERS" there as well.

Fabric paint. It holds alot better on my heads that I "flatten" with pliers. The groves hold the paint better.

Should work just fine. I tell you what, send me some and I will try it out for you :D:D:D Wash them with some Dawn to get the oils off before dying and they should take the color better. I have been meaning to do some thinning of my herd in the backyard but I haven't been able to find the time lately.
