Skip,
i have actually been tying for quite awhile. Just new to the forum. Like i said in my original post, these were just some ideas i was throwing around to see what i want to make more of. I posted them to see which ones you guys thought were keepers.
There dual color chenille jigs were intended to have a large body....i've been trying to do some pitching to structure rather than vertical jigging so i tied a large fluffy body on a 1/32 head to get a slower fall rate.
I came across the crystal braid about a year ago and have been tying alot of jigs on darter heads with it. In my opintion with it, a darter head, and the right tail material it does a pretty good job at mimicing a baitfish profile.
Yes they catch fish
Yes they hold up well...i take pride in my jigs....i take the time while tying to make sure they are durable.
I have seen pictures of your jigs on the texasfishingforum.com...not bad. Thanks for the criticism, i'll put it to use in my future tying.
And by the way i'm in the Dallas/waxahachie texas area....if anyone ever wants to meet up and share ideas or do some fishing.
Well you ain't to far away that fishing sounds pretty good to Me!
Man they look good, welcome to c.c
Take your kids hunting and fishing, and you won't be hunting your kids
Man those are some nice ones. The ones in that first group are right up my alley and they'd work well on the fish in my water.
Welcome to the forum. I look forward to seein more of your work in the future.

I think you'll find some great ideas from some pretty creative crappie fanatics on this site. Looks like you're already "eaten up" with it yourself. Great looking jigs that will catch fish for sure. Great pics.

You don't know if you don't go.
they look good. for a chenille, marabou jig try orange head, tiny black eyes, chart. green or chart. yellow chenille body ( make the body short ) and white marabou for the tail. 1/32 oz. on a size 2 hook. a freind of mine once caught 3 crappy over 2 pounds in one afternoon on them fished under a bobber , just the plain jig. he showed me the jig and said he couldn't find them anymore. I made him about 30. he says he's catching fish on them too.
i know what you mean about slow fall....i made me up some 1/100oz on #4 and #2 hooks now i just need to tie them up and see how they work out....

Welcome on the board Falco from N Central Ohio. Nice work, I've been thinking of ways to make a slower fall because I do cast alot on small no-boat lakes, and throwing smaller lead usually means a shorter cast. Sounds like a winner!
