    Default My first five jigs

Still trying to get the hang of it. Only gonna do it for myself, not to sell. The one on the right has already produced. After finishing it I went out to the back pond and caught three nice crappie before getting hung up and losing the jig.

Nothing wrong with them Jim. You might want to end your chenille/body a little closer to the jig head. Will make a smaller body and will save you on chenille. If you want a little fatter body you can overwrap the body. But hey....if it's working.......

I second what SM said about the chenille stopping at or about the hook point and the barb as I try to not go past that area towards the hook bend.

Like the colors and yes they will catch crappie!

    Good job,

This not only saves chenille, but on the smaller jigs, gives a bit more room for Crappie lips to get hooked.

Yea, I thought I was leaving the marabou/chenille long. I will shorten it on the next ones.

Thanks for all the positive comments.

Good thing ya took a pict of one of the winners. I've made up half a dozen experiments before, taken them out for a test drive and lost the best producing one. Ya never can tell if ya got the same thing without a pict. Jigs look very nice!
