Couple of questions

Have a couple ???

When working with Chenille, how many wraps do you guys do to start and end your chenilly wraps?? I think I over do mine. SHUT UP AGRIHAWG!! :p

Do you start at the front or rear?? I guess it depends on the look you are trying to get??

How many rounds do you make front to back with it?? I have gotten some advice on making it tapered and I really like the look of it.

I also have been cutting the center out of my marabou...this makes for a really nice tail....anyone else do this??

I start at the head and tie down my chenille where I want my body to end then wrap my thread back to the head.Average is between 5-7 wraps depending on body length and hook size.Tinsel chenille is thinner and may take up to 10-12 wraps.It all depends on how you want your body to look. I also cut the center out of my marabou and I think it looks much better,at least to me . Fishhunter will get you going in the right direction.

I pull my marabou off the quill unless it a very thin quill. I wrap my chenille much like Jungle does. Some chenille is thinner than regular so yes it take more wraps. I make enough to fill what I want to fill. On 1/8 & 1/4 I double wrap it.

Most everything I do starts at the head and ends at the head.

I use marabou from the tip for the first tie and then use the rest in different ways depending on what i am doing. If I am just making a tail and don't want a ton of flair I will hold the cut ends together and cut the length I need with the quill in tact. If I am tying small and want a lot of flair and body I remove it from the quill and tie it in.

I tie I my chenille from head to where I want it on the shank and then wrap back to the head. I always let the chenille dictate how much I use. When I warp I make it tight enough that the chenille works it's way up the shank. For crystal chenille I found it works better for me to tie in at the head, wrap to the bend, tie it off and then wrap back to the head. I get fuller results with less material that way.
