Good looking jigs Mr. Attica! What material did you use to make the tail on jig #1.

Huck Finn - Well, one of my cut rate cheap materials. :o I'm also not sure on all the tying lingo but trying to learn, so bear with me. You can get a bag of many color feathers at wally mart, orange-yellow-blues-greens-red-pink and so on. The main body of them are similar (but not quite the same) to marabou, and the ends have a fan shaped piece. I took the fan shape piece and cut a v shaped section out similar to how I have seen it done with hackle material on here. It's blue/white with some midge flash.

    Thanks!

CrappieKillerJigs - Yes I do them by hand. Ok, I am a rookie, but how else would you do it?? On #1 which looks verigated, I actually used two strands of medium chenille, one white and one blue. Lock them both in at the end of the body and I twist the two together then wrap to the head. Man you got me thinking..... how else do you do it??

good vise...i dont hand wrap no more and remember that the bobbin always got in the way...but for a hand wrap they look great...i have braided 3 diff. colors of chenille togather and wrapped my body like that and they looked pretty nice...good luck and keep out the good tying....

I need any vise other than the one I have now. lol I have to fold a piece of paper and pretty much wrap the hook to make it thicker so my vise will hold it tight. Hope to get new one soon, but not sure where the $$ will come from.

Thumbs up I like them all

Great looking jigs Attica! I like all of them. I especially like Number 5 only because I have had a lot of luck with a jig very similar to that one. But every one of those beauties will get the job done, especially on sunny days. Nice job!

Thanks CrappieRanger. #5 was the one I was most un-sure of. I have heard many reports of people catching them on thin jigs, that is the reason I made it. I've got a very clear lake I intend to use them on, but guess I will have to draw straws for which ones to make a supply of. lol Maybe I will just make 3 of each, take 2 and leave one at home for insurance!!!

I will have to get out my multi color hand dyed chenille I got some years back and tie something with it. Gotta find the wholly buggers I made with them and post some pics.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
