As a cast jigger, if I had to pick one size for my usual 4# mono spinning it would be 1/16 #4 for castability, adequate depth penetration, and decent hooking & holding capability. But of course lighter heads & smaller hooks are less snaggy and can be retrieved slower. Tho many feel larger hooks are harder to shake off, I think a smaller hook is easier to fit into a mouth. Am gonna try 1/8 #2 for longer casts and quicker drops in deep(30'+) water this season, but expect to snag bottom more. Smaller is better, just ask any Asian guy!
