Default first two jigs ever tied

Well here is a pic of the first two I have ever done. Hey we all have to learn sometime
The top one was made with a fox tail I had. I still think a fish would bite it,or just piss it off

Nothing wrong with that. Can't see the body very well so what is it made from?

On the second one I would use less flash, but that is me and you make them how you want. I like just a few strands to set it off.

I have made some for customers that want all flash tail and am about to make an order of them up in a couple days.

So there is no right or wrong and have fun, but the real fun starts when you catch your first on one you tied.

skip, As you know I don't have my chenille yet
So the body is just black thread wrapped around and around and around.
I then took some of that clear glitter nail polish and spread it on. How do I make that flash lay flat and straight back instead of flaring up. I just sort of laugh at myself when I look at these

these look good to me, I'd use them. While experimenting, try looking at them in the water to see how things lie & flatten out-the way the fish will see them.

It is hard to get the tinsel to lay flat so I always make the curve face the jig and not away. You can also not go so far away from the head to make you neck and you can secure it just fine with half what you did and then the hair from that fox will start to flair faster making it look better.

Look at my Sig pic and that is all you really need to tie the hair in. I sometimes have mine a little bigger than this one, but I don't go as far as you did. Probably will not matter to the fish though, LOL!
