Finally Figured Out How to Post Pics

:rolleyes: Well, it's too cold to fish or golf, so I finally took the time to figure out how to post pics...at least I think I did. I've been tying jigs in this cold Illinois weather and thought I'd share a few of my favorite color combos for crappie fishing in this part of the country. I always have enjoyed this site and really appreciate the skilled hands and talent demonstrated here. I hope I don't embarass myself too much. Here goes...

I must be out of the loop with the blue and white combo. I've heard 3 different people in the last week talk about how well it works and I don't think I even own anything blue in my box. That will be changing soon, have an order coming with 2 different colors of blue chennile! :D Do you throw the blue under certain conditions? Sunny or cloudy, warm or cold?

I use a lot of blue on brite days or clearer water .

Nice looking jigs,love the paint jobs on those pillheads.You ought to sign up for one of the swaps when the next one comes up.I'm addicted to the site.I'm right down 70 from you in Saint Louis.Thanks for showing those jigs.I'm going to have to tie up something in blue myself.

Blue and white is a good all around color IMHO...There are days it really produces well. I like it in sunny conditions. It's a good KY lake color, and it has worked well for me on some of the local Southern Illinois lakes that I fish in my home area. A friend of mine guides on KY lake and sometimes uses a blue head with a black and blue body in low light conditions there (early morning or overcast days). Thanks again for the kind words. Silver/Blue/White is a big deal in my box and if the sun is out and the water is pretty clear, that is the ticket here. If the water is a bit stained or if just the clouds are heavy I want a Chart/Blue/Chart jig right in my box as well. I use several different blue shades and like them all.

Man, now I'm feeling GREEN :o my fav lake is crystal clear 90% of the year!! I'll take my number of times to hear it in a week to 6 and counting..... Come on springtime!!

Flatfish the orange effect is produced with Pink/Glitter fingernail polish put over a bright red wax thread wrap. I like the glitter finish it produces and I found that it builds up or thickens the wrap area so the finished jig isn't so skinny as it would otherwise be. I even use Clear/Glitter polish over chenille to get the sparkle effect. I was in Walgreens buying a bunch of fingernail polish over the Christmas holidays and had some girl wait on me and she saved me some money. I kinda felt like Clark Griswald.

Man I hear ya I like those hard bodie's in the winter they seem to target smaller jig's ounce again nice work.
