I have been into this new hobby of tying jigs which I have learned from this forum for about 2-years now and would like some recommendations for a New and better Vise. Since I started I have worn out two of the cheaper versions of tying vises pictured below. Thanks guys and have a "HAPPY NEW YEAR"!!

I just ordered a Danvise for 75 bucks. Can't see paying several 100 and I did not want one under 50. Danvise is suppose to be very nice and had good reviews
Did a lot of research and ended up purchasing a Peak Rotary Vise... Best buy in the 100-150 range and it's American Made!! Well built without the high price tag... I love mine.
Hey Len,
I forgot to mention that I have a link for you to check out if you haven't purchased your vise...
Nice link for comparing vises, plus reviews on all major vises...
Selecting the best fly-tying vise, by Hans Weilenmann and Bruce Salzburg
Hi Len,
I have used a Renzetti Salt Water Traveler which I liked a great deal, but at $210 is higher than the Peak which I almost got later, but changed my mind and went with the Nor-Vise which is really different and high cost. It does make a lot of fly tying things much easier like dubbing. I do love it though and if you were tying flies I may even try to show you the videos for it, but don't look if the pocket is limited.
I have not tried the Peak my self, but have hear very good things about it and it is very well built and heavy duty.
Good Luck,
Skip
If you consider that $75 Danvise (which so far seems to be a pretty good one) be usre to get the extension for it. It gets your jig out a little more and makes it a lot easier to work with.
