This I got from some fly that a guy made and it didn't look anything like this, but that is where I got the idea of the material and I want to tie his fly too, but just have not yet. I made these about 2 months ago or so. I guess this is more for the guy that likes soft plastics, but you can do other things as well and it's all easy.
These are my Koosh Ball Jigs....
And if you want to do a little tying....
All you got to do is buy some toys, the Koosh Balls and they come is a lot of good colors. Cut the spike off at or as close to the ball as you can then thread the hook on and just when it's about in place stop and pull back a tiny bit (1/4" or so) and put on some fishing glue and pull it back into place and there is it. With the one with hackle just tie the hackle on and still do about the same thing as the plane one.
I have not been able to try these yet, but I am sure they will work very well. So here is my gift to the board for Christmas this year so to speak.
Merry Christmas All!

That looks like a good dock shooter .I'll try making some myself.
Whenever you make something out of nothing, ya can't beat it! Might have to go hunting through my kids toys tonight... they won't miss one or two little spikey things, will they?
Merry Christmas SKIP. I hope you and your family have a great time i am on vacation till next year. i will catch up with you at some point.
Interesting concept Skip!! It's funny but as one dives deeper and deeper into their jig tying world, they start looking at items and materials in a much different way!! I've even taken the fuzz and fur off of old toys to use on jigs!!
What a simple helpfull tip. Toy shopping for me now. lol. Younger grandkids will be happy with a ball with a few missing tips.
ole Mike
I got one of those Koosh Balls as a stocking stuffer for my grandson now I will have to buy him something else.
Thanks guys!
I hope all of you have a great Xmas and I also feel sure this little jig is going to catch a lot of fish this coming year with several of you giving it a try.
Easy, looks good and has a wiggle, what could be better than that?
I do think it will be good on crappie and bream on a smaller hook.
