Depends on what kind of fishing I am doing, but I like hackle and marabou best. I tie and sell a good amount of bucktail, but don't use it my self.

Just got a bunch of Fox tails and will give that a try as I like it way more than the stiff bucktail. I like more action. I do use a bit of kip tails too, but I think this fox is going to be what I want for a hair tail.

I love the way the marabou moves in the water and it falls really slow. I have never fished hackle. It looks alot stiffer, does it move much in the water?

I like hackle the best, but marabou has more action. I tie with squirell tail as well,it's soft and looks good in the water. I have an endless supply at the bird feeder.LOL!

Oh yeah don't forget about rabbit as it make great jig tails too.

Hackle is not stiff in the water at all and is very good.

Here is a pic of some rabbit strips used as tails.

To be honest I have thought about them, but their natural colors don't excite me much, but then again I am not sure what the hair color is you would be talking about. So maybe, but I don't keep a large amount of each color except for a few colors I use more. I have a good amount of fox in different colors some natural and some died.

So tell me more and we can see. I have so many colors of hackle and marabou I guess is why I don't buy by the pound except in one color. Most marabou I buy by the oz. and hackle by the pack which is about 1/4 oz. each and I just keep 4-5 packs in stock.

What would you have interest in?

I like a hackle tail jig or a kip tail jig for my personal fishing. I tie and sell a lot of marabou jigs and pin minnows though.
