Try J. Stockard JS Fly Fishing: Rod Building Supplies, Fly Tying Materials They have some pretty reasonable stuff and depending on what you're looking for (chenille strung hackle maribou or jigs) check Janns Netcraft they have pretty good prices.

depending on what you want, you can get alot of stuff at the craft dept in department stores. I use the synthetic dusters with different colors. Works great.
Craft stores has the threads in large spools cheaper.
Take you kids fishing today!!! They will be grown (and married and have children of their on) tomorrow. Then you can take your GRANDKIDS!

try hobby lobby or other hobby stores. sometimes they have the same feathers or craft fur as fly shops but a lot less cost and no shipping.

Be very carefull of feathers from Hobby Lobby and other cheap importers. Some of the feathers are not colorfast. Will work ok for tying just don't get them wet.
I would imagine that there are exceptions, but test first. ole Mike
I was in a dollar store looking for Halloween Party supplies and spotted fake hair. I picked up one and thought....hmmm. It came in many colors...chartreuse, orange, pink, red, gold, yellow, light & dark blue, and purple. I picked up 10 total. I soaked 1 in water for a half hour and it still looks good. I be shopping there more often.
