Jig size/type of bait

While a marabou type bait makes sense for 1/32oz. and larger.
Would you do something 'buggy' with the 1/48oz. and smaller?
The crappie in the lake I fish, Roosevelt Lake Az. are rather large.
1lb. is a good average.
Larger bait for larger fish?

Try em on all different size jig heads. I know that's easy for us who pour our own jigs but if you don't you can try the same thing. I've seen the pictures on this board where guys used small jigs and caught big ones. Just try several and see what they want.
