I really like Matzuo hooks and use the regular sickle hooks when I tie my own worm harnesses but I've had some issues with them when pouring jigs with Matzuo sickle jig hooks. Seems the lead doesn't like to stick to the hook shank on at least 30 % of what I pour. Could be the coating that Matzuo uses. Not sure but a guess. They're definitely super sticky and fine enough wire to keep me happy otherwise.
Thanks !
1/32 I have both regular bend and sickle hooks in size #8, #6, #4 and some regular bend gold #2 hooks. SO that is a lot of stock when You count I keep 4 size hooks of which I have both Sickle and regular bend on 3 of the sizes. SO just for 1/32 oz. I stock 6 different hooks. So if you have say 200 of each that is 1400 jig heads in just 1/32.
Personally I have some of each tied in my persona; box because the #8 makes for a very small profile for the picky bite and the #4 Sickle makes for a much larger profile and both weight about the same with only hook weight making any difference.
However with that said most of the time I fish with #4 of both Sickle and Regular bend.
