    Default sprue on small jigs

Im wondering about sprue depth on smaller jigheads 1/32 and less. Ive seen different molds such as a hilts that will have a much deeper sprue hole I dont know if the design was for velocity or extra heat to make the lead flow longer. Is it better to have the deeper sprue for smaller jighead weights?

From my experience and I am no pro by any means, The shallower sprue on the small jigs would be better. Less travel distance for the the lead for such small jigs. The less lead you use in a mold, the harder it is to keep the mold warm. When I am pouring jigs, my molds stay cool enough to slide hooks in their slots with my finger tips right after I had just ejected one out. The deeper sprue may cause more hangups in the lead. causing more deformed jigs. Just my opinion. CF
