Here is a great site that you can learn as much as you put in to it. Check out Fly Tying then you will see Beginning Fly Tying, then Intermediate Tying and finally Advanced. These will take you through many patterns and show good pics and detailed instructions.

Gotta second LedHed on some of the books he has listed:

Angler's Guide to Jigs and Jigging, by Ken Oberrecht - Stoeger Publishing Co., 1982

The Complete Book of Tackle Making, by C. Boyd Pfeiffer - Lyons Press, 1999

The Complete Book of Lurecraft, by Russ Mahoney – Outdoor Life Books, 1987

The Complete Book of Lurecraft, by Russ Mohney, 1987

    Luremaking, by A.D. Livingston, 1994

The Anglers guide actually has how to tie jigs but not many patterns. It also has a chapter on making your own plastic baits but the info on tackleunderground is way better. Another book you might want to get is:

Fishing with worms and other Live Bait - It has chapters on making spinners and snelling hooks.

It is amazing how many of the older books pop up when a discussion comes up on them.

You really want some patterns and some excellent tying tips check out the Fly Tyers magazine and web site. I have all the Fly Tyer magazines except one.

I got the Hatches magazine last year and the new one and they are really nice. Don't have any other mags though. They also have a news letter.
