    i am new to tying and have a couple of questions 1. where do you all buy your hooks for tying and do you buy the ones that have no collar on the jig head? 2. how do you powder coat your heads i don't have a clue why or how can someone explain? thanks for the advice

    1. Lots of folks here sell them. Look in this forum down a few posts, you'll find them. For tying jigs, use no collar jigs.
    2. You buy powder paint and then heat up the jighead for a few seconds depending on the weight then swish them in the powder paint jar then let cool. Move them to a 350 degree oven with the jigs hanging on racks by the hook to cure the heads so the paint won't chip off. Let cool and start tying.

    Fish-WVa, you have a PM. I can help you with all that you've asked. Smoothlures gave you a great overview.
    If you want to powder paint quite a few jigs, I can send you plans (originally from CadMan on TackleUnderground.com) on making a super little 2" fluid cup that just uses a couple pieces of PVC, a little valve, a brown paper bag, and an aquarium pump. I just painted a few dozen using mine tonight, and they work great. A fluid cup is not necessary though.

    Fluid beds are nice, been looking at one for myself.
