Most that i use are 1/80 th. size 10 hook.
Talking about meat, maybe 2 days out of 10 the gills will take a bare jig no meat, but most days it takes a littel sweetener on the hook to get the gills to take it, not so on the crappie, which i have no proplem getting on a bare jig.
Any thoughts why they want some sweetener on the jig ?

Just curious, what size hook is on your 1/100 oz. jig.
    THANKS

Size 12 hook on the 100th or you can go with a 10 too.
I have no idea about the meat thing.
I get gills all of the time in a 50-50 mix withthe slabs.
Shoot today we caught 30 gills/ no meat .
Not everyday is a good day fishing .There are days it gets tough ou there and you really have to work for them.

In the summer I catch crappies all of the time trolling for walleyes on 1/0 hooks and 1/4oz heads, however when I go for crappies I'll use my little jigs.
Although you have some nice product,I'd never jump your thread Crappieday or Slab Slayer.

Hey Keith, just wanted to let you know that i tied up my version of the jig, 1/80 oz. jig head, smallest i had, used rabbit for the body and kept it short like you suggested and tried them on the ice Sunday, at a farm pond, with the grandson. Bite was very slow, fish were tight to the bottom in 12 ft. of water. Had to put the jig on the bottom and work it up. Most took it couple of inches off the bottom, some would follow it up a foot or so, but wouldn't take it, could watch them on the Vex. depth finder.
All together we probably caught 20, kept 10, 8 to 9 inch. gills, no crappie.
    Best color, was all black.
Blamed the slow bite, on a big weather change that was coming in, rain warming temps 40 ies to 50 ies, and a high barometer.
This could have been are last trip on the ice this season, as the pond only had 5 inches of ice, and weather is supposed to stay this way for a couple of days, with lots of rain.
But you can bet, that i will try the jig in open water. THANKS

If they were that tough you can bet meat would not have produced near the numbers.
    Good luck this spring!
    I know you'll pound them using a float-n-fly method.

How did I jump YOUR thread?? In my last post I was just thinking about how different Ice fishing was from fishing here in the south. I have not once advertised in this thread, and if you will look on page #1, I even gave your product good praise. And then even spoke up when someone was talking about if a person was a "friend" of yours. So tell me how I "jumped" your thread????

I in no way were saying anything about your product, but as far as your thread you were not the one that started this thread
