I've been working on some new color combinations and found one in particular that blows me away and thought I would share it. It's a four color combination. Using my trusty Bic lighter I start by dipping in Blaze orange then dip into Fluorescent yellow then brush tap Copper crinkle and then blue brush tapped over that. Reheat head 2-3 seconds and take a bodkin swirl it through the paints blending the colors. There should be a small ball of paint on the tip which removes easily and then stick bodkin through hook eye to clear paint. On to the next jig. Hang jig in racks with head up. Start with cold oven and bake 15 minutes once it reaches 350. Here is what they look like. I think they are too nice for eyes. Kind of looks like a little coppernose. Fish can see these from a distance, will make a great muddy water jig.![]()

Those look good Jim.
Those are some good colors there, I usually paint most all mine black or use unpainted jig heads.
Usually if I am catching fish and lose a jig I think I have to go back with the same color . With every jig being a different color I don't think I could pick out the right jig to retie . While every jig is multicolored every jig is different.
Great looking jigs Jungle Jim...

That is some sweet jigs!![]()
The best thing my dad ever gave me was his love of fishing.
They look good and they are made to fish with. Fish like crappie see very well and I use fluorescent colors on most of my jigs. Under uv lighting you will see 2-3 colors that fluoresce on these jigs. The swirl technique binds colors together and I believe that once they are baked they are extremely hard to chip. Crappie are sight feeders and need to see it before they eat it.
Great looking heads JJ! Your creative genius and ability to bring out new designs is amazing. All with a Bic Lighter!
