Bologna!!!! that sure brings back memories, my dad loved the stuff (made by a local company), I could catch a ton of gills with one slick slice chopped up.

You are so correct. I remember when I was a kid I would fish with a small hook, split shot and a piece of bologna skin from the meat shop up the street. Many of gills became supper off of that. Ole Jake would give me a couple slices of meat and I would take him b'gills once in a while. Really miss those simple times.
