The glitter gives a nice effect Just make sure to keep soft plastics away from anything painted with nail polish. Over time they react together and turn into a sticky mess.

I put a final coat of Sally Hansen hard as nail on them , do you think that will help with the exposure to plastics?

No. Hard as Nails is just clear nail polish. You can use them with plastics since the reaction doesn't happen right away but don't store them together. As long as they're not touching it's fine.
