Here's two attempts from today at WindowPane.
The two jigs in the previous post were rough attempts while these two are little better.
The basic idea is to leave the inner layer of hair showing through the outer layer of hair while providing a contrast in the two.
The hair is tied on in four separate actions, starting with the inner hair, one bundle on each side. Adding some flash on top and bottom completes the first tie.
A different color thread is used to start so that it can show through the window after the top and bottom hair added. Thought that might be a nice touch to have that color there.
Two bundles of hair are added on top and bottom of the hook shank to complete the contrasting tie. It's been a little difficult to keep the hair separated so far, the goal being a crisp separation between the two colors.
Adding a red color collar behind the head seemed like a good idea, so it was done on the second tie from this morning.
Adding UV glue over the thread gives a little more shine than Krazy glue alone.
The final two jigs are good fishing quality for sure and look okay for now. Some fine tuning and better technique would surely help.
I took some pics step by step. If anyone's interested. Can post them later.
The first two are from yesterday, third one is the first one from the morning after adding the red highlight behind the black thread and using black and white hair as an example for contrast, and the last one is pretty close to the mental image of the idea.
Thinking of the various material possibilities results in a multitude of possible variations.
Standby for the future variations of windowpane.
