in the last couple of weeks ive had multiple people asking me to make them some jigs. apparently my buddy that a made a box for has been marketing my product. i just do this for fun and i have no clue how to price a jig and they insist on paying me. for what they want ill be using neck hackle, some will be craft fur. medium global antron. a little flashabo, i pour my own heads. and use 2, 4, and 6 sickle hooks. just looking for advise on a fair price per jig. i don't do it for money.

Depends on the quality of the jig and the quality of tackle/supplies used to make it. For instance I can just make a plain 1/16 oz head with paint and would be cheaper than a pill head with eyes, under spin and 2 tone paint. Would be even more if clearcoat was used. Then you have hooks. The mustad j hook I’m using right now is 3x the price of other j hooks/sickle hooks. I know of some crappie flies people make gay fetch $3 a pop but the are about as quality as one can get. Do you have pics of jigs or go into more detail about them?
I agree with skeetbum. But the average going price for a handtied jig is in the $2.50-$3.00 range each...Plus shipping.

thanks fellas. im just gonna charge him 1.50 a jig and let him pay shipping. its amazing to me that i shipped about 15 to a friend in tampa, fl for 1.69 but to send the same package 90 miles north of where i live costs 4.50. doesn't make much sense to me.
I would be interested in seeing what you’re tying! At that price, I may order about 30.

Mailing packages has gone up a lot the last few years. You want to watch out for that gar hole of tying. Once you start selling to a friend or two they will have friends that want some and so on it goes. SO unless you want to be tying for other guys fishing you better watch out, lol! Have seen it many man times with guys I helped get started tying.
