Always keep experimenting because you never know what you will find. The hackle you showed looks like what they call Bass Capes or Streamer Capes. These are good tail material and good for collars, but also the Saddle hackle is a little stiffer and what is used a lot on a collar, but most any hackle can be used many ways.
