For me it just was not what I wanted so after trying and many bottles of nail polish I gave it all to my wife, lol! I do use Sally's at times, but not that much any longer. Mostly if I want to coat over a head for eyes or what ever I like the clear Vinyl. It will not discolor Chartreuse and it tougher than powder paint.

When I walked up to the cashier with 6 bottles of the wildest colors of polish they had in the store, she was asking what I was doing with them!

since i tie both jigs and flies one tip i pass on is to cut the brush applicatoron an angle so its easier to apply without getting it on the chenille or feathers.

Thanks for giving me a reason to finally get it all together and organized better. Still think I’m missing some....lol. Skip - also I’ve found if using nail polish the Sally Hansen did not dull my yellow if anything it enhances it.

Probably cost more than a couple bucks, I use the cheap stuff. I could paint black then clear with purple flake on top!
I have time to paint and let dry. I usually paint white base first night, the main color the next night, add eyes or effects another night with sally Hansen as top coat. By the time I go to tie any jig it has dried at least one day. I know this is long process but I enjoy it and have time after I put my girls to bed. I have a bunch of jigs all painted and ready to be tied. My girls also like painting them as well....lol.

One thing you should keep in mind is nail polish can react with certain soft plastics. After awhile it turns gooey and makes a mess in your box. If you're planning on using them for plastics, make sure you remove the bodies after you put them back. If just using them to tie hair jigs it's fine, but keep them separated from the rubbers.
    Don't worry, catch crappie.
