I like to tie with the hook point up but when I finish the jig I flip it over to dress the belly bright as most crappie hunt food looking up. Those big eyes have trouble looking down I've read. Remember walleye are my most sought after here in the north but I do apply it to crappie baits to. Walleye look up too if they are not going on vibration.
