    Hi Pop,

I dip the head in paint and as soon as I take it out I have a wooden toothpick that I have sharpened for each color and I still that through the eye to clear out excess paint. If one happens to close (not very often) I have a skinny bodkin that I heat with a lighter and stick though the eye to melt the paint right out. Toothpick usually does the trick though. Some of these toothpicks I have used for many years, lol! The Paint is Chrome (can give you the name if you need) and the tail is White Saltwater Neck Hackle.

I will answer anything I can help with any time Pop, so if you have a question just ask.

Skip, your willingness to share is certainly appreciated. Yes I would like the name of the paint. The eye, both inside and around the exterior of the eye plus the stem from the eye to the head all appear very clean. Actually it is so clean looking it's like the hook eye was wrapped. The tooth pick would clean the inside of the eye, are you doing anything else to clean the outside areas of the hook eye? Thanks again Skip for your help.

Your welcome! If the eye has more paint than I think it should I may wipe it from side to side on that same toothpick. I can clean the tooth pick with my thumb nail scrape the excess paint off when needed. I have never wrapped or covered a hook eye and I never use my forceps to hold the eye to keep paint off. I never like having to clean my forceps since mine that I use have teeth, lol!

The paint is named Super Chrome and kind of hard to find. I fist found it at Rosey's, but they stopped carrying it because of it not being available enough for them, but it can be found!
