Vise advice

Coming to you guys for help. When i started this hobby i just bought a cheap $20 vise. I wanna upgrade now. I just dont know if i need a rotary vise. To me i won't ever use the option.

So what is the best fixed vise. Or would i be better getting a rotary one. I just have always used a fixed one

Do you want to use true rotary ror wrapping? Or do you just want to be able to flip it to see the other side? I have the latter and enjoy being able to see the other side. I have a Regal that I like a lot. I don't know much about true rotary, but my friend loves his Danvise.

Not sure what i want. I know i want something that holds the hook a lot better than what i have. I have the vise that crazy angler offers. It is not smooth at all and is tuff on getting it to hold the hooks. I tie a lot of #4 & #2 hooks on 1/16 & 1/8 heads.

I got a Peak rotary from Skip. Couldn't be happier. Use the rotation on every jig. Others may not do like me. I turn the vise to wrap the chenille, some wrap the chenille by hand. Just get a quality tool whichever style you decide on.

I have talked with skip a lot. Just wanted to knoe what everyone else uses. I have looked into the renzetti saltwater traveler and the peak. Most have told me to go with renzetti. Also when looking at a vise it says left or right hand. I hold bobbin in right hand so which one do i need?

Used a cheap one for years, bought a griffin mongoose. Like the rotary for looking at jigs. Doing it over I would go with the Renziti salt water.

The Regal is probably one of the easiest to use American made quality vise out there.

I've been using a Peak Rotary for many years with no issues what so ever. Its a plessure to work with.
Never found a jig or fly I couldn't tie with it. Of course its made in the USA.

When I began, a member dent me a Renzetti traveler to try and I bought it and have tied on little else. It's truly a quality vise and I've never had any issues with it. The Peak is one that I have tried and like it as well. Turning the vise for chenille and checking things helps, along with tying rubber legs and being able to check the progress and balance is handy to me. Good luck with it.
