I do not think there is a one size fits. As some have stated above you need to try and see what works best at any given moment. Sometimes fish can be aggressive. In off colored water certain colors with a lot of flash can out fish others. Just as dense colors such as black work best in heavily stained water. I am a Trout guide but enjoy trying to figure out the crappies way of thinking in my spare time.
