Fatman, have you ever tied a brown bear brown or a brown bear black. I have caught more trout on those two flies than on any other fly. The original tyer was Mr. Wombacher. When he died, the copiers used a different shade of brown that did not work nearly as well. They look simple to tie, black or brown thread body with an orange weave on the belly, and brown bear hair tied to lie along the body. I have one left, but I keep it with my trout stuff in Montana.

Skip, I would have posted a picture, but as I said in the last line of the post, that fly is in Montana. My family live in Dillon, and I leave most of my trout stuff up there. I'll see if I can post a picture once we get back up there, which should be some time next week.
I DID try to find a picture on the internet, but all I could find was a "barbie", which was one of Mr. Wombacher's flies. He also did a sandy mite and quite a number of other nymphs.
