    Default bobber stop material

    hi,
anyone have a source for some good string to make bobber stops ?
i've tried dental floss, and braid fishing line and didn't like neither.
just had to throw abunch of store bought stops away. they where wrapped wrong.
    so i'm making my own.

    thx,

I use a dacron line and use six turns making the knot.

Sorry can't help you on that one - I got away from the string stops years ago and use the little rubber ones.

I have used Walmart crochet string for decades. When wet it really stays put.

I just reverse engineered these store bought stops while in the hospital and needing something to do.
It is just a simple 5-6 wrap over top of the 2 opposite tag ends.

This is the best video I have found for making your own bobber slip knots.

This is almost identical to my steps. I cut the stirrers in half and the string a lot longer. At around the 2:50 marks he is threading the last tag end back thru the channel. Instead of the channel I go back thru the hole of one of the stirrers. Pinch the string and stirrer tight and pull both back out of the loops. Just an alternate way that works for me.
