    Default bobber stop material

Has anyone tried cutting a slit down the length of the straw that the bobber stop stays on (prior to wrapping)?

I like the slotted sleeve on the Rod N Bobb's brand. You can thread it on first, then a bead (if necessary), then the bobber, then your terminal tackle. This is handy especially if you are going to be fishing deep. You don't have to slide a tightened know the whole length. The slot lets the sleeve come off the line right where you since it!

tried some 20lb. fly line backing for bobber stops. it measures .020 dia.
    works perfect!
i keep it on spool. i cut a short piece off, and just tie it on the fishing line with a uni-knot.

A lot of folks swear by the Lindy string stops. They hold well due to the fact that the string is cotton. Find some cotton string and make your own for a fraction of the cost of store bought.
