    Default Jig material question

I saw a jig the other day and cant figure out what it is made of. It is a basic maribou style jig but over the hair towards the head was a small piece of square looking white material. It was spongy like a marshmallow. Any ideas what it is ? I am new to the jig tying and dont know the materials very well yet.

Thanks for any and all help

Check out the craft foam at the big craft stores; lots of colors and can be cut with scissors. Lots of fly tiers use the material for large terrestrials like hoppers and beetles.

Yes JWirth is probably right and I got a bunch at Hobby Lobby. It does come in different thickness also! Of course a picture would be helpful to make sure it's not something else?
