Yes it's kind of over whelming when you first start, but it's a lot easier now than it use to be. There were not any videos on YouTube or anything like that when I started so I went to FAOL and learned a lot from their lessons. The language is hard to lear as there are so many different kind for so many different places and types of tying. Just relax and read the stuff like in our sticky post at the top like Fatman said.

Also to just tie regular jigs the feathers mostly will be either marabou or neck hackle, not other kind of hackle. Remember all feathers are hackle as are some synthetic materials too, just thing of the old term "he got his hackle up" like the car on the bak of a dogs neck when things are about to go South, lol!
