    Default Crappie Candy

    Skip,
I finally sat down tonight and tried my hand at Crappie Candy. You're right, although it appears similar to a Clouser, it really is quite a bit different. I hope I did it halfway justice.

MY Wifi is not so hot on my iPad and will not show me the pics. So will look in the morning on my computer. Glad you gave it a try though!

Good job on your first one. Let me ask a couple questions, fisrt are you looking at the pattern lesson when tying? Next did you count the amount of Krystal Flash? I ask that just because its looks like maybe a little more than spelled out,but can't really tell.
still good job and should catch some crappie!

I wasn't looking as I tied, but I did a quick reread before tying. It does have more flash. There were a couple of goofs too. One goof, it calls for the thread to be left at the tail, the yarn to be wrapped to the front, then wrap the thread up over the yarn. I tied the yarn off at the tail, wrapped thread to head, then wrapped the yarn to head and tied it off. I need to work on following directions better, I always wander from directions and put a little bit of me in. haha.

Hey noting wrong with putting some of you in a tie for sure, but just think for me it's better to tie some the way it's spelled out for me first to let that all soak in good before I try to reinvent it, LOL!. Actually all the colors was a thought I had for these and I do tie them in any of the colors I have and you know how many that is, LOL! Fisr off the guys on there with their patterns and their verbiage are really good fly tiers so I get to thinking maybe I should learn their way before I adulterate it?

Of course keep in mind what I say is just what I think and how I see things and you are quite capable of coming up with your own ideas about this hobby. So no rules that are hard and fast, just my 2 cents most of the time!
