Thanks, that's what I was wanting to hear. I think these are good jaws, I don't know about the replacement though

Steve, I looked at that vise about a year ago. Did a internet serch for reviews. Found a few and nothing negative. Best I could understand from a lot of reading he has made several improvements in it since he first came out with it. He also started having most if not all parts made in US. Some where it listed a phone number where you could call him. When I finally buy another vise it will be between that one or the Danvise.

I don't have it here yet, I thought the vise would be here today but it never came. I should be getting supplies by the end of the week.

I'm in the market for a vise aswell. Let us know how you like it. I've been tying on a 15 dollar vise for about a year and ready to upgrade.

If you have been tying that long and still enjoy it then I would say just get a really good vise as you should know by now if your going to keep at it. Also if your keeping at it treat your self to a vise that has a great name and offer life time warranty. Get a Peak, Renzetti, or something with a name like these.

Also take a good look at a Griffin Montana Mongoose vise as it's a good one too!

Oh yeah, I know I'll be doing it from now on but just now started really looking at the different type vises out there and what I really need to suit my needs. I do appreciate the help.

Here is a vise review from several years ago, but still very good info. Take a really good look at the ones I mentioned and on the Renzetti I bought the Salt Water Traveler with Cam jaw and still like it a lot, but I did move to a Nor-Vise after a year of that Renzetti, but I still have it also and is a super good vise. The Peak is probably the best for the money you can buy, but It kind of depends on your feel which is most important. The Renzetti is smaller around the Jaw area which makes it very nice to tie on and is lighter due to materials used in making them. Both have great hook holding power. If you ever though about spending as much as $300 for a vise them look at Nor, but if too much don't even look at it because it will do things the other can not do!
