    Hey man. I fish a river system. The water is muddy 99% of the time in the main river. The bayous creeks and oxbows are muddy when the water is rising MOST of the time. If they're not they're black. I guess some would call stained. Especially when water is low, like during summer on The Pearl....where our level is restricted by water holding structureS in MS.
    Very seldom can you see your jig more than 3" down. Most all the rivers I fish are affected tidally by Lake Ponchartrain., which is salt water. Also home to BIG speckled trout. And about any other saltwater delicacy you could want.

    Here's a pic of the back yard this morn. Notice the water color. This is part of a creek off the Pearl that runs behind the house. The water is prob 6-7' in the middle right now.
