Good job! Only thing is the picture is not good enough to tell a lot. I also don't know that you are using. Is it a body type wrap or os it marabou? If marabou I can't see enough to know for sure, but if your leaving the (barbules) feathers on the stem the. You should think about pulling that off the stem, stacking enough for the tail, pinching it where it's going to get tied in and then cutting off excess before tying in, then tie in. Never cut off the natural ends! Only time I ever use a marabou tip is if the stem is really over thin, but probably 90% of my marabou ties do not have a tip in them. I do keep all my marabou tips though for smaller jigs and flies or what ever. I hardly throw away much in materials. If you tied flies then you could even use some of the stems for some types of flies. Say like antenna for some bug, color the stem black and you have some antenna.

Skip I used marabou tip for the tail and stacked a pink and chartreuse marabou for the body wrap.

I almost never use marabou as a body wrap except on one fly I tie on a jig that calls for that. I always take the feathers off the stem, cut the tip off and keep that in an extra bag. So just tie with the barbules that are long enough for the tail. You can tie it anyway you want actually as there are no rules that never gets put aside for some things, but a nice marabou tail free of stem and not too much marabou tied in the tail for best action! Always best action os without a stem.

You never know what you may want to tie next week or month or even next year, but sometime small pieces will do the job!

every color of marabou I have, I keep enough in a zip lock to use for a long time, then I have 2 sandwich bagels inside that bigger bag. One of for tips and the other is for my next ties and has been taken off the cotton threads holding it in the pack and scrapped with finger and thumb nail to unstick what is stuck together. Anyway that is what I do and ever color I have is like this.
