Make sure you get the good Ball Canning jars - I started out good and then cracked one with hot water and luckily got the dye cleaned up without messing up the wifes kitched!!LOL with squirrel tails you may have to cut them in half so they'll fit in the jar.

One thing I learned with the heavy Ball canning jars - after I did the really hot water on the stove and put the material in to dye when the water cooled down, I put saran wrap over the top of the jar cut a few slits then put in the micro-wave and a couple of times at 1 1/2 minutes and it really helps the dye get into the material.
