    Default Calf Hair

Anyone else tie with this stuff? Really becoming a fan of it after bobo gave me a pad and I started using it. Pulled out this jig when nothing else was working today and managed to catch a few. Handed them out and the guys around me started catching fish as well. Really a nice action in the water with the tapered tail. Its a lot softer than bucktail, and more movement. It squishes down a little bit like feather, its not quite as bushy in the water.

Looks good. I use a lot of it on my smaller jigs from 1/16 down. Works great when the fish doesn't want a lot of movement. Dock shooting these are also another great use of them. You have to be careful tying them because the hair is slick and will pull out if not tied in tight.

Right! I learned that with the first couple I tied. Bluegills pulled half the hair out in 10 minutes. Since then I have been adding a drop of glue to the thread before I place the tail. With the glue and tight wraps, I have had no problems at all.

I want to cry since I've tied so many over the past 2 months. A lot of guys use them exclusively after ice out up here in the northeast.

That is the way to tie them to last. Crappie will kill these jigs red/white/yellow - red/yellow/white.

Yes lots of guys like fishing with it and I find it really good as well and especially when the water is still a bit cool. I have tied a bunch of Kip Tail jigs!

The calf body hair jig did it again today! Hit a different spot and found some spawned out bucks that were pretty aggressive. They loved them. 1/32 head swam slowly parallel to the shore in 2-4 FOW.

Kip tail is a winner in IL. I do get most of mine from CrazyAngler. I 2nd stump with a dash of "krazy glue" makes a difference. One tail can really make a lot of jigs.
