    Default Trying Some Different Thread

Just thought I would share something with you guys. If your wanting some finer thread that is stronger than others maybe some 6/0 Veevus thread. I bought some a good wile back to try because i seem to be heavy handed and break 6/0 pretty easy. I bought some lithe blue as I didn't have that color and they say its stronger than regular 6/0 and I believe it is. I still like my 210 Danville Flat Waxed, but for a smaller thread this Veevus is pretty good.

Some of the guys on several fly tying sites I go to are using it and really like it. Still have lots of thread so once I start getting low I'll try some.

It is a good thread. Like you I use to break all the smaller size threads. I still use some of the 70 but the 6/0 seems to be stronger.

Guess I should say there is a big difference in jigs and flies, especially on small flies. On jigs for the most part big thread like 210 doesn't really make any difference and is easier to tie with, but when it comes to flies many patterns can't take big thread and a smaller Dia. thread is needed. Plus I was able to get a color that I can't get in my 210 Danville thread so for me it was a no brainer to try it.

thanks skip. I just recieved some 6/0 uni thread in purple and this stuff is really thin, I took some off the spool and tried to break it, couldn't believe how strong it was, pretty expensive though, but it was 200 yds.

I use a couple colors in the Uni 6/0 and it's not bad, but think the veevus is a little stronger. I really hate their (Uni) 3/0 which makes no sense, but I just don't care for it at all.
