Split Ring Question
I'm new to making jigs and have a few question I'm sure I can get help with here. I have a pony head mold and looking at spit rings from Hagen"s.
Has anyone used their economy, german, or american stainless steel split rings? What works the best?

I don't buy mine from Hagen, so can't really help. Sorry!

Been with Hagens for a long time and like them. I use the american ss on my horse heads with good luck. If I could just see that small stuff like I used to would be great. LOL

I use the germans on mine.

I use both the nickle and the stainless on mine. Another place you may want to check is a bead store. If you are lucky enough to have one in your town or close by. They not only sell the split rings in various configurations and sizes, they sell what are called split ring pliers. They are worth their weight in gold.

If you can't find one locally, look up the bead merchant in Tulsa on either facebook or the web.

As you are attaching a spinner just about any split ring should work well.

What size are you looking for? I have some extra size #3 if you happen to need that size. I mostly use #2. I believe al my are SS.

I use the Texas Tackle split ring pliers, the small ones. I also like the cheap Worth ones but not the price. Never tried the Xuron's but read that lots of folks like them.

Do any of y'all use ss jump rings

Some do some don't, it's a personal choice, I like the split rings myself.
