I use fine for my 1/32 and 1/16 and medium for 1/8 and large for 1/4. You can find them usually in these sizes.

I didn't realize that chenille came in different sizes. What size do you guys prefer for tying 1/16 jigs? I would guess that the chenille I am using is slightly larger than 1/8" in diameter. I see on crazy angler's site that they offer different sizes.

It comes is sizes of 00 to #12. I use mostly #2 & #3 in Rayon and Nylon on all sizes of jig heads, but I use #8 and larger on my Crystal. Some you may need to just double wrap it to make a full body, like say a 1/4 oz head and #2 chenille.
Danville the Mfg. Of most chenille doesn't have a fine and medium, it's all by size number. What you are talking about is what some fly tying shop's size code which just goes by what they carry. Here is the size chart.

Yeah I know. But a lot of places sell it by the fine, med and large I have seen.

Some of the jigs I've been tying i've double wrapped just to make a more defined body. I have some black "micro" that hasn't been used yet for crappie jigs. I use this for tying a modified wooly booger that the trout like. Think I need to go check out the supply store, yet again. I always find something new to add to my arsenal.

I'm still learning on the whole size thing as well. I'm the type that likes to put eyes on and see what it looks like in my hand. Buying online ya can't do that and it's just hit and miss if your trying something new that you've never used. One good reason to keep up with where it came from, size, and color for future references. Sure is fun to experiment though!
Size #0 = fine
Size #2 = medium
To muddy the water, crystal chenille definitely "appears" to run a tad smaller than nylon or rayon.

One note on Crystal... when you get chenille and just for example you get some FL Yellow with Blue Crystal, okay now if you get the regular #2 most get to cover all sizes it will tie smaller because it seems when you add the crystal it is not as dense as just all FL Yellow so I started a few years back if I was ordering some speckled Chenille (What Danville calls this) I always go to size #3 and I think that is much better and more like #2 without Crystal. Hope I didn't confuse any thing here, but if I did just ask and I will try to help.
