First thing I would suggest is check your game laws especially with Deer. Some states have laws against taking game off the Rd without calling Wardens first. Usually I just take my tails and salt the ends real good and put up to dry. Always good ideas to put them in a baggie with some borax to kill any bugs that might be in them.
