FISH ON
When you are fishing with a jig and you come to a sudden stop using marabou what does it do it has a slight wiggle or action in the water this is enough to trigger fish to strike that is the reason why I put marabou on the spoons so when you hesitate when you are jiging them it may trigger a strike not only that but how many ice jigs have you seen with marabou tied on them zero far as I know many years ago I believe that we had what they called a skunk was a piece of metal with some feathers behind it I believe there was one more jigging type spoon or ice Jig that was made up like this none of them are no longer be in made these were things that we had in the late 50s and 60s but I sure do wish I could've got a hold of the cutting mold to make them I've seen more guys back in that day's that were using them so they were very popular I believe that most ice jigs probably topped off with some type of grub or some type of bait or something like that we used to tie on a gold hook and jig it all by itself I've caught quite a few crappie with that method but we used to use cut bait with them also nothing better than a nice chunk of crappie meat to trigger them it was our number one method years ago.
