Thank you for the information and your time. Your box looks really great. I wish I had the patience to do that kind of work.

Really it all depends on what someone is willing to pay, a custom built box like this is uncommon and there are not a lot of examples to go by. Believe it or not these were built from scrap I had in my shop, my only real expense was the hardware and it wasn't really expensive stuff. Mostly it's labor that you pay for. I could only tell you that this box as you see it with the materials included sold for a little over $300.00 I and that was shipping included and the contents. I would estimate the box value to be around $150.00, but its only my opinion.what would a box like that be worth? Reason I'm asking. I received an older one with the tools, vise thread and a lot of tying material. I don't make ties and will probably sell it. Sorry for taking your thread. First time I seen one like it. Thanks Frank
I enjoy stuff like this, but just don't have time to dedicate myself to making these for the purpose of profit. Too many irons in the fire. The only reason this post comes about is that I am going to build anther version of one for myslef and while I'm at it, I may as well make several at once. The idea of using them to benefit crappie.com is just something I wish to do and had considered doing a few years ago. I like being unique and different and taking something I enjoy doing and making it my own by altering or designing to suit my needs.
Thanks to everyone who has made the nice compliments, and the suggestions. If I use an idea you give me it will be noted, makes it kinda fun. This project doesn't really take that much time, so I will try to work on these and have something ready within the next month or so.

I made a rack to hang my jigs and gnats on out of scrap lumber but had to buy the 1/4" wood dowel.
Someone want to pm me with a cellphone number that will post a picture for me?
I find different things on ebay that I can copy and I'll make it or add to it. Some of these items the seller must think that their item is gold lined or something sometimes.
My cell # is in my signature , I'll post it here for you.Someone want to pm me with a cellphone number that will post a picture for me?

Yes, I had many people last time, but like I said at this time I really don't have enough time to devote to this for trying to mass produce. This go around I will make a few, but these ideas will be included in my new design and the templates will be ready if I decide later to make them to sell.I bet everyone that you can make that you can sell like hotcakes on eBay I'm pretty sure the guys on here would be interested for a couple hundred bucks sounds pretty good to me.
I am working on the design now, and any new ideas or pictures are certainly appreciated!

Being from LA you were in good company, and still are. Many good members down your way. One that you would have enjoyed knowing was Perchjerker1, his name was Tommy. He's gone on ahead now but he did things for others here on the board and I miss him all the time. He would buy vises, both good and cheap, and offer them to members starting to tie. When I stated that I wanted to start to learn he contacted me and though we had never spoken before, sent me 2 vises to try and if I liked them I could buy it and return the other. One was a Danvise, and the other was a Renzetti Traveler that I tie on today. This was a bunch of $ to a person he didn't know. I took the Renzetti, and a friend took the Dan. I had to argue with him to accept the shipping money. I'm sure that he would have had a vise or two for you to try that would fit your needs for your case. He came to mind as I read this thread and had to pass it on. God Bless You Tommy, we miss you still.
Your case is very nice and anyone would be proud to have one. Very well thought out.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
I saw these the first go round I believe. Big fan. Only idea that came to mind was a grate type flip up from the top that could anchored upon opening for hanging completed jigs.
Really good wood work and craftsmanship.
