    Default Popper Tying

One of my first poppers. Can't wait to tie it on.

Looks good! Hope it's not one of the white hard foam popper heads? You have to be very careful if it is with how much feathers you put on one of that kind because it will weight it down too much. However if it's another type you may be fine. Just have to try it out and see. Still a good looking tie!

Thanks Skip, It is a hard body. I plan on ordering some of the soft bodies, which I heard are easier to paint.

I am speaking about the hard bodies. I made the same mistake on a couple of these by putting a lot of feathers on it. Let me see if I have a pic.

Found one and this one was too heavy.

Nice job on the popper. I agree with Skip on the feathers, have to be careful because when they get wet they add weight to the fly. Put it in a glass of water and see how it floats once it is wet. If it sinks just trim a little of the collar or cut the collar off and hackle it again.
    Good luck.
