Thanks, but I can not view his pictures as I am not a member of that site. They started that site and had some problems here with a few of them and some ended up getting ban here and some blame me for their troubles I guess so I don't post there. Slab wouldn't appreciate that link on her I believe. So maybe we should remove the links, sorry. I do now understand the term, just never called it that, but I do love the duck flank feathers and have a ton of them, just don't get enough time to tie what I want to.

I don't know anything about all that nor do I care to. I'm here, there and on other sites to gather and share inspiration, information & ideas and for entertainment. I appreciate your tutelage and comments Skip and feel like I can come to you with questions and to "show off" from time to time. I just think it's a shame we can't all get along, and post here, there or anywhere freely without criticism or rebuke.

I agree, but Slab has rules and I wouldn't go into that here.

Haven't used much flank and usually just keep it simple to the materials I have, but those look like hunters to me, Vern. Both are great. I have difficulties with hackle bends on occasion bc i like em placed on sides and noton top, but i try to take time n get'em the way I like. Wanting to give em a go in the future. Any suggestions on suppliers? We don't all have a ton of every material.

As far as the other talk… there's 1 side to every 1 story that can be heard in 1 place. A lot of respect is missing in stories also.

I got most of my Mallard Flank from Crazy Angler. I'm learning more & more about its use. It does have a natural "scaled" look to it.

You can get a lot of different kind of duck flank feathers, gadwall, teal. Wood duck and thei gold flank and mallard. Some come it a good many dyed colors as well. Natural are nice as well. I am pretty sure I missed one kind.
