Get you a set of hackle pliers. That way you can look at em, just like the rest of us, and wonder what the heck they're good for. And a couple more bobbins, definitely. And when you find a good one, let me know what kind it was. I love tying jigs, its very addicting, but very rewarding when you catch a limit on a jig you made the night before.

I felt the same way about hackle pliers, and I got a good rotating hackle plier with my first kit and gave it as a gift to the Swapmiester of my 1st jig swap. Then I entered a swap where the theme was jigs targeting Blue Gills and I tied a Red Ant I killed them with when I was a kid

I then saw just what a hackle plier was good for. As for a really good bobbin, I have 6 ceramic tipped bobbins I bought from CrazyAnglerTackle.com and @ only $4, they are TERRIFIC!! Just sayin.

Having tied a ton of olive wooly buggers back when I used to fly fish with my dad, I know my way around a set of hackle pliers.

I didn't buy any because I figured I wouldn't need them for crappie jigs, however, having seen Pepop's red ants, I may need pick some up!

Tony I do a good many with a collar and plan on doing some more things with my thing to keep looking for Fly Patterns I can transfer to a jig. I also have a DVD by a guy that does what is called rope dubbing and he made a bunch of samples I keep trying to get to do more of and that is all fly tying based.
